Societies and Lodges

The basic organizational unit in New Sons of Liberty is known as a “Lodge”.  These local units, i.e., Lodges, are to be associated with a state chartered/incorporated town or city within the state, e.g., a Lodge in the city of Philadelphia, PA, will be named the Philadelphia Lodge.  Local Lodges will be responsible for:

  • Communication with State Societies
  • Conducting security reviews on prospective Lodge members and administering the oath
  • Reporting violations of national precepts or the NSL Oath to the State Society
  • Planning and conducting such activities as deemed necessary in support of the objectives of the NSL organization
  • Identify, at a local level, anti-American individuals and groups and those that support them

Each local Lodge will be chartered by the State Society and will receive a charter certificate. A sample local Lodge charter is shown to the right.  As stated elsewhere, there may be more than one Lodge within the same city or town.  When that occurs, they shall be designated with a number starting with 1, in the order the Lodge was established, for example: Philadelphia Lodge 1, Philadelphia Lodge 2, etc.

Each state will have a headquarters (HQ) organization that will be called a “Society”, e.g., Georgia Society Headquarters.  State Society Headquarters will be designated by the National Headquarters and will receive a certificate of designation as such.  A sample certificate is shown to the right.

The State Society HQ banner differs from the National HQ banner in that it shall have the state name shown directly below the Rattlesnake. See examples to the right.

The State Society Headquarters and the National Headquarters (NHQ) will also serve as a local Lodge but with the additional duties and responsibilities that reside with a headquarters.  Societies will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the administrative headquarters for the state
  • Communication with State Lodges and National HQ
  • Conducting security reviews on prospective Lodge Chiefs (prospective Society Lodge Chiefs for NHQ)
  • When appropriate, assisting with coordinating Lodge activities with other Lodges.
  • Identifying, at a state level, anti-American individuals and groups and those that support them.
